St. Catharines Scouting Groups have from September 1 until October 15 to book dates up to September 1 of the following year.  Other users can begin booking after October 15 for dates up to Setpember 1 of the following year. 
bulletLodge - The lodge is a large winterized building with kitchen and washroom facilities, as well as a fireplace. Overnight users sleep on the floor. Capacity is 60. Tables are available for eating and craft activities. Handicap accessible including washrooms and a ramp. Rental of the lodge comes with Site 11 for campfires. No pots, pans or cookware provided for any of the rentals. Bunkhouse - A winterized addition to the Lodge, the Bunkhouse has sleeping for 12 youth and 2 adults, a kitchen and toilet facilities.
bulletPotlatch - A screened cooking and eating facility with a gas stove, refrigerators, freezers, running water and picnic tables. not Available Oct 26th - April 30th. No sleeping accommodations in the Potlatch. Site #3 is the closest to the Potlatch.
bulletCabins - There are 5 unheated cabins with bunks that sleep six. Booking the cabins reserves the site, but you only pay per cabin used. There are 4 cabins accommodating 6 each, and 1 leaders cabin accommodating 4. Total 28.

bulletPool - The swimming pool is open approximately July 1st till August 31st 
 
Class B pool (unsupervised) no one under 12 years of age is allowed within the pool enclosure unless accompanied by a parent or his/her agent who is not less that 16 years of age. Also the number of bathers in the pool and on the deck shall not exceed 10 (i.e. inside the enclosure). When operated as an unsupervised pool, the lifeguard may be replaced by  one or more persons, over sixteen years of age, who has satisfied the pool operator that he/she is a competent swimmer, is trained in the emergency procedures of the pool,, and is a holder of a current (3 year old) first aid certificate i.e St. John's Ambulance, Canadian Red Cross, Royal Life Saving, Canadian Ski Patrol etc.
 
Also if a larger group wants to use the pool, We need to operate the pool as a class A pool. Lifeguards are required, the numbers are as follows
 
0 to 30 bathers - 1  lifeguard
31 to 100 bathers - 2 lifeguards
Lifeguards are the responbility of the booking group.
Note lifeguards are to have their current National Lifeguards Services Lifeguard certificate (or certified copies) with them while on duty. certificates need to be dated within the last two years.

Fee Regulations – Camp Wetaskiwin

Scouts Canada – St. Catharines Area

 

  1. Upon booking on the on-line website at swocamps@scouts.ca a confirmation will be issued from the London office of Scouts Canada (usually within 3-4 days). With the confirmation an invoice is included.

 

  1.  No booking is final until confirmed in writing/email from the London office.

 

  1. A non-refundable payment/deposit of half the expected total fee as set out at the time of booking is required as follows:

 

    bulletAll Campsites and Buildings: Payment must be received in the London office of Scouts Canada within fifteen (15) days of receipt of confirmation. The booking will be cancelled and made available to other groups if the payment is not received within the 15 day time period.
    bulletAll Campsites and Buildings: Where the use of the facility is to be within 15 days of booking payment must be made upon receipt of confirmation and must be received in the London office at least 5 days before the date of use.
    bulletIn fairness to other groups wishing to book facilities and to rationalize income, in no case will the payment/deposit be returned All payments are non-refundable. (Note: it may be possible for the booking group to transfer the use and payment in cases where cancellation is necessary).

 

  1. Day/night use is considered to be four (4) hours or more, in which case the full fee is applied.

 

  1. Picnic/meeting use is considered to be less than four (4) hours, in which case the lower stated fee in the Fee Schedule is applied.

 

  1. The per-person fees apply to all persons using the facility (i.e. adults and youth).

 

  1. Booking the whole camp or all campsites or all buildings requires the approval of the St. Catharines Area prior to booking. Contact Vince Goldsworthy at 905-934-7053 or Dick Thomas at 905-646-8846.

 

  1. A lifeguard is not provided by Scouts Canada for pool use and user groups must provide their own lifeguards. Upon booking the pool please see the Pool Usage Requirements for details relating to Class A and Class B pool use. For all groups adequate adult/leader supervision or a currently certified lifeguard is mandatory.

 

  1. All groups immediately upon arrival must check in with either the Camp Ranger or the Camp Chief on duty at the time. The number of adults and youth using the camp and the facilities being used must be reported. Similarly, upon departure all groups must check out with the Ranger or Camp Chief who will verify usage and numbers.
